No to Procrastination and Yes to Focus
Have you ever wondered why your mind races more than it can concentrate?
It's easy for most of us to become distracted from what we set out to do. However, there are tricks and strategies which if practiced on a regular basis can help bring a much needed calm and balance.
Give these strategies a try to boost your productivity:
Stop leaving things for later. When faced by a not so interesting or a hard task to complete, you might be tempted to put it off. Procrastinating is a mask of fear. Starting to complete a task early on will help you find more time for activities that you enjoy.
Practice mindfulness. Increase your awareness of the surroundings. Try to experience the little things and people around you. Looking at things with a different perspective boosts your creativity and focus.
Meditate. Meditation has been tested and proved to be efficient in bringing about progressive relaxation. A relaxed mind is less stressed and is more focussed.
Include taking breaks in your regime. Take breaks before you have exhausted yourself completely. Frequent breaks recharge your energy and bring you back to work with an increased zeal. When your mind is refreshed, you’re able to pay more attention to details.
Adopt a healthy lifestyle. Our sedentary lifestyles make our mind and body lose its harmony. Maintaining good health is an investment in itself as it declutters your mind and makes it easier to concentrate on your work.
Keep away from distractions. Sometimes we are caught up in multiple tasks at a given point in time. Planning ahead and ensuring that you have everything you need makes it easier to navigate.
Procrastination has been a part of our lives and we need to give up the habits that push our priorities down the list. Practicing the above strategies can help eliminate unwanted noises and increase focus to help you lower your stress. A reduced stress is an increased happiness.
